History of the Practice
The practice was started almost forty years ago when Colin Papandreas was working as a Government Auditor and his secretary asked if he would prepare her tax return.
From our humble beginnings, Papandreas Rajani & Co was founded to assist small business grow and has grown to a practice that services over 2000 clients.
Today the practise boasts four highly qualified and experienced accountants, with an extensive list of enthusiastic support staff and operates out of a spacious heritage listed building in Kogarah.
Providing key business services to support small business, such as taxation, and business planning we foster a nurturing environment for new business and pride ourselves on creating great relationships with our clients, through understanding of our clients’ businesses and operations.
Unlike most accounting firms we do not advertise our services and find that our growth comes largely from client based referrals. This speaks volumes of both our clients and our services
In addition we do not take commissions or fees from the sale of financial products and find that concentrating on our forte provides for a more favourable outcome for our clients.
We offer a personalised, hands-on service that is becoming increasingly difficult to find these days.
Our Team
Colin Papandreas Dip Tech (Comm) B.Bus CA FCPA JP
Colin Papandreas is the Founder of the firm and is both a Chartered Accountant and Certified Practising Accountant and a Company Auditor with a wealth of experience.
He is familiar with all facets of Business Services and Taxation and can advise on virtually any area involving your money, taxation or investment.
Colin currently maintains our quality control and oversees and mentors our staff.
Mohammed Rajani B.Bus CA JP
Mohammed (a.k.a. Moh) has ten years experience in Public Practice and became the Principal of the business in 2007. He has extensive experience in all facets of Accounting, Taxation and Business Services.
Our current Director has extensive experience in taxation, accounting and business services and has been a member of the team from his university days.
Moh completed his high school in South Africa and is fairly well travelled. This provides for a greater understanding of overseas taxation and cultural diversity.
Completing his degree at the University of Technology, Moh then went on to complete his Chartered Accounting designation through the Institute of Chartered Accountants almost immediately.
Melanie Butler B.Bus CA JP
Melanie commenced employment with our practice whilst still a university student. Although Melanie started a family recently she maintains a connection with the office, she manages a small group of clients and also provides contracting services on a regular basis to our firm.
Andrea Papandreas
Andrea has been with the firm since inception and is our Accounts Manager. In addition, she also assists the administration staff in their respective roles, when needed.
Louise Alderton
Louise joined our firm fifteen years ago as a Junior Secretary when she migrated from Tasmania.
Louise is now the Office Manager and knows every client by there first name, she has an incredible ability to recall relevant information about a client and is a highly valued and essential member of our team.
In addition to providing key services to our firm, Louise manages our younger admin staff and mentors them through their learning process.
Carol Tran B.COM Accounting
Carol completed her studies in 2007 and started working an Accountant in a food related business before joining our firm in 2008.
Carol is being mentored by Colin Papandreas and is fast progressing to a very high level of proficiency and is on the path to obtaining her Chartered designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
John Hantes Adv (dip) Accounting and Finance
John completed his Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance in 2008 and worked for a Chartered Public Practice specialising in Accounting and Taxation.
He joined our firm in early 2009 when he commenced additional studies in Bachelor of Business & Commerce, which he is currently completing. John is currently specialising in Accounting and Taxation and is being mentored by Colin Papandreas.
Mary Elters
Mary commenced employment at our firm in late 2009. She previously worked for a public practice in the Shoalhaven district specialising in Accounting & Taxation.
Mary is currently completing her studies in Bachelor of Business & Commerce whilst gaining experience in Accounting & Taxation. She is also being mentored by Coiln Papandreas.
